We have berber...and goodness it's awful! Little black coarse hairs sticking into the fibers! We're thinking about replacing our carpet....so opinions are gratefully appreciated!
We are also getting a Dyson vacuum....we heard they work the best!
Thank you!!
What's the best and worst carpet when you have a shedding dog?
Berber is actually better for us...we had shag carpet and it was awful, we had an australian shepard who was inside and she shed so bad...it wasn't too hard to clean up after her. I think with a dyson vacuum you'll be good!

No such thing, you just need a good vacuum. I just invested in a Kirby, very pricey but now I don't have to change my carpet.
Call for a Kirby demonstration.
No Im not a Kirby salesman.

Get the dog fur cut and then it is not such a big mess...We get our golden cut 3-4 times a year. Shedding is not noticeable. Or you could let him shed and pretend it is the carpet natural color... If you replace the carpet -- might as well replace the dog...

We have two dogs and a persian cat and the shedding is considerable so we just replaced our carpets with laminate flooring in an oak finish. It is heaven!!!! You can't see the hair even if you wait 2 or 3 days to sweep. We put down a few area rugs (washable) so the dogs have somewhere comfortable to lay down. (We replaced nearly 500sq ft for about $600.00. My husband installed it.) But now we don't have to worry about replacing carpet and vacuums. Just an idea for you to consider.
