I wash him at least three times but he doesn't smell like the groomer's or his hair still carries dirt. What do I do?

just curious, some dogs just smell bad , but its been my experience that the outside dogs smell the worst .

thier hair holds oder , so with that said , it dosent matter if you wash him 3x in a roll , hell still stink .

other things that could cause an oder are , things like mange , and other parasites that cause skin condiction , if you dog has lost his hair in places , DONT BATHE HIM WITH BARE HANDS !! people can get this skin condictions from thier beloved pets .

theyll check him out , and have treatment avaliable if he needs it .

i think if you shaved him , hed smell alot better .

Make sure the smell is coming from his fur.If it is from the ears it could be an ear infection,or if it's coming from the rear end,it could be a problem with the ana l glands.

groomers use DOG COLOGNE after bathing the dogs which is why he doesnt smell like that. ALso they use different shampoo and conditioner...

you might not be washing him good enough. put you some pine sol in the water. if its a old dog,they will still stink after a wash because their old skin , try putting a little pine sol in the water.

You can buy a groomer's perfume at the vet clinic for about $8.00 a bottle (at least at my vets) and spray it on after your dog is dry. Use the spray between baths to keep him smelling good. ur dog is suffering from eczema under the fur and u can't see it. that's why it smells, and each time u wash it u r making it smell more, and also making the dog scratch more! is it scratching??? try to get the right shampoo at list, and consider also that there are raises that are more smelly then others.

your groomer probably sprays pet Cologne on your dog. brush your dog before bathing to remove dead hair and dry dirt.
