Dogs tail.?

why do male dogs have hair growing out of there tail for as when they wee it gets all wet, and can you cut the hair off, it must be there for a purpose?

Dogs tail.?

yes they are suppose to have hair there, it is suppose to keep it clean %26amp; so it matches in with the rest of there coat.

You can trim it back a little but not to much just to get the wee bits off

Dogs tail.?

tail? do you mean penis? i hope so,, because if your dog is peeing on his real tail that would be strange,, since his tail is not located near his penis ( which, last i checked is what is used for weeing)

Dogs tail.?

I have a German Shepherd and when he pees it doesn't go anywhere near his tail.

If a dog grows hair anywhere then I suggest you leave it alone, unless they need surgery. They wouldn't grow it if they didn't need it.

Dogs tail.?

First let me correct you a male dog does not get tail hair wet when they urinate they get penile hair wet. Second yes cut it a groomer would cut it. I believe the hair is to help the urine run away from the dog as he hikes his leg to pee so if you cut it it will let the urine fall just under the dog and I have a few Males it will not hurt them at all if you don't clip the penis in the process

Dogs tail.?

Hair exists to keep animals warm and sunburn free but trimming it won't hurt unless you do the whole dog. Most hairy dogs are trimmed around the butt for hygene's sake.

Dogs tail.?

hun...

Dogs tail.?

You can trim it off, as long as you don't catch the skin (ouch!) but be warned that if you do, he might just pee up his belly instead! A dogs penile hair is designed to aim the flow away from the body. Why not just use some wet wipes on him to clean him up once a day instead?

Dogs tail.?

poor pooch!!! i think you should leave his tail and penis well alone!!
